Head's Welcome
I have had the privilege of serving as Headteacher since our school first opened its doors in February 2025. My connection with the Academy began a little earlier, in November 2024, when I first visited while the site was still under construction. Even then, standing among the scaffolding, I was inspired by the incredible opportunity to build a warm, supportive, and vibrant educational home from the ground up.
Special Educational Needs (SEN) has been my passion for 16 years, and having spent so much time in this field, I bring a true understanding of our local community and its wonderful families. I believe that strong, caring partnerships between home and school are at the heart of helping every child feel safe, understood, and supported. Working together, we can enrich our pupils' daily experiences and ensure they feel valued and encouraged every step of the way. To live our values of 'Be your Best, Be King, and Belong' by caring, respecting and achieving together.
As a huge sports fan, the name of our Academy holds a very special meaning for me. It represents teamwork, encouragement, celebrating every victory—big or small—and never giving up. Putting those values into practice, I completed the London Marathon 2026, and as a school, we all tackled the Mini Marathon together, bringing our whole community closer. My ultimate goal is to build a compassionate, dedicated staff team that empowers every pupil to reach their full potential and grow into confident, independent individuals.
It has been such a privilege to guide the school through its very first full year and celebrate so many heartwarming milestones together—from Year 6 overnight trips and our Year 10 and 11 functional skills exams, to a memorable celebration evening for our Year 11 leavers. Looking ahead, we have some fantastic initiatives underway:
- Listening to Our Pupils: We have launched our new School Council, and I cannot wait to meet regularly with our young leaders, hear their ideas, and shape our school's future through their eyes.
- Connecting with Families: Our parent and carer coffee mornings will remain a regular fixture, offering a relaxed space for us to catch up, share ideas, and stay connected.
- Building Our Governing Body: We are currently forming our new school governance team, and I look forward to working closely with them to guide and care for our school's future.
